Oakdale is known as “The Cowboy Capital of the World” and former home to Hershey Chocolate. We are saddened that Hershey will physically no longer be a part of this community, however we intend to keep chocolate a part of our event. In our 16th year of planning Oakdale Chocolate Festival, we realize everybody loves chocolate. Our theme for this year’s event will be:
Cowboys N’ Chocolate
the tradition continues…
In celebration, the Oakdale Chocolate Festival was born in 1993, and continues every year on the 3rd weekend in May, at WoodPark, at the junction of Hwy 120 and 108, from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. The festivities include fine music, entertainment, over 80 arts and craft booths, and over 30 assorted food booths all offering at least one item of chocolate. But the main event is Chocolate Avenue, where vendors show their wares of cakes, cookies, ice cream, fudge, toffee, truffles, cheesecakes, chocolate shakes, and candies. This is the place to try free samples and buy confections of all kinds. Also offered in the Chocolate Festival are a KidsLand, filled with entertaining rides and games, A Classic Car show, and a Fun Run. Admission to the Festival is only $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for Seniors, and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. For more information, call the Visitors Bureau at 209-847-2244.
