Oakdale Chocolate Festival

Oakdale CA Chocolate Festival

Come to Oakdale’s Annual Chocolate Festival, which is held the third weekend in May each year.  The Chocolate Festival main activities are located at the junction of Highway 120 and 108 at Wood Park and surrounding area.  This is the setting for music, a variety of entertainment and of course CHOCOLATE.  Stroll though the unique arts & crafts booths and wide variety of commercial vendors.  Plus, there’s a taste to satisfy every pallet.  The food court offers a wide variety of foods such as, giant onion rings, Lockeford Sausage, funnel cakes, smoothies, Chinese and the all American favorite hot dogs.  Not to mention many food vendors have some sort of Chocolate.  Then join all the chocoholics for a grand tour of Chocolate Avenue where you will find various Chocolate vendors such as Ghirardelli, Sconza, Dove, Yamaguchi’s famous Chocolate Seafood Gumbo, chocolate fudges, truffles, chocolate ice cream, and chocolate cheese cake.   Take a moment, relax, and watch our celebrity Chef’s perform their wonders with Chocolate on the cooking stage.

Hold your hats as the Spirits of the Old West venture you on a journey back to the old west. The brawny western actors and their shady ladies step you back into a time where the lawless battle against the law in an old town showdown performance.  Watch for the snake oil salesman who knows what he’ll try to sell ya’.  There will be a gun safety for the kids at each of their performances.  Across from the western town you will find a large agricultural display featuring a variety of agricultural products grown or produced in Stanislaus County.  Our leading commodities are milk and almonds valued at over $620 million dollars.  A stroll through the Agricultural Display will prove to be both entertaining and informative.

On the South side of the festival, Sierra Railroad will be offering a Wine and Chocolate Train where you can savor a sample plate of house made desserts and a flight tasting of port and dessert wines.  The hourly train rides depart at Noon, 1:30pm, and 3pm.  Advance purchases are welcome by calling 209-848-2100 or visit their website at www.SierraRailroad.com.

The cost to enter the festival is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for Senior and kids 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Due to the large number of people attending this event, no pets, bicycles, skateboards or skates are allowed through the gates.
